Ways to Help Prevent Infant Constipation

Constipation can be identified by the complete absence of bowel movements can be an indicator of constipation so can stools that are hard or difficult to pass. If baby’s stool is small and pebble like or they are really straining to pass stools they may be constipated. Small changes in baby’s diet or routine can cause occasional constipation in babies. Get Moving

Get baby moving, if they are crawling get down on the floor and encourage them to crawl around. One way to encourage this is to have them play with balls or toys that roll and encourage baby to crawl after them. If baby is eating solids increase the fiber and cut back on foods like rice cereal, applesauce, bananas and bread, which can cause baby to get backed up.
