Probiotics are living microorganisms that scientific research has shown to benefit human health. Most commonly these are bacteria, but they may also be yeasts. In some cases they are similar to, or the same as, the microbes already found in a healthy digestive tract. Many probiotics were originally isolated from common fermented foods such as yogurt. Mommy’s Bliss Baby Probiotic Drops contain the live culture Lactobacilus rhamnosus GG, the most widely studied probiotic in the world with over 800 scientific publications attesting to the safety and healthfulness of these beneficial bacteria. Like all dietary supplements you should discuss the use of probiotics with your baby’s doctor.

Yes.  We recommend the daily use of our Probiotic Drops to promote long term digestive health and then when needed use of any of our Mommy’s Bliss® gripe water products to sooth baby’s colic & gas quickly.

There have been many peer reviewed published scientific studies that have shown the benefits of probiotics when added to the diet. Studies of probiotics have shown benefits to infants, babies and children as well as adults. Some studies have shown that probiotics can specifically ease symptoms in colicky babies, including reducing crying time. Probiotics are meant to be taken on a regular recurring basis, often daily. Probiotics work over time to support overall digestive health and immune function. Thus probiotics will not bring immediate relief to a colicky baby but may reduce the frequency and severity of bouts over time.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG is a naturally occurring strain of bacteria found in fermented foods and common in the gut microflora (microbes) of normally healthy humans.  It is thought by scientists to be an important component of a healthy intestinal tract.

Our probiotics do not require refrigeration but must be stored at 77oF (25oC) or below to maintain potency throughout the labeled shelf life of the product.  Refrigeration can prolong the shelf life of the product but is not required. Keep the bottle tightly closed when refrigerating or freezing the probiotic.  Only freeze unopened vitals of the probiotic to avoid moisture pickup on thawing.

We provide 1 billion live probiotic cells per daily serving.  So long as you consume probiotics routinely even a few million may be enough to provide a benefit.  Studies support taking 1 billion cells daily.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG is the most widely studied probiotic to date with over 800 peer reviewed scientific publications.  Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG has been demonstrated to be safe for newborns and adults alike.  The Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG strain is already a common microbe found in the guts of healthy individuals.
